A radiator cover for the Sd.Kfz. 7 in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. A resin part for the half-track tractor, not a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory part, not a vehicle model. The radiator cover was a sheet or a panel that the crew put in front of the radiator in cold weather, so that the engine reached working temperature sooner and did not run too cold in frost. It was a practical thing that crews often made up themselves, so period photographs show it in many forms. For a modeler it is a detail that places the vehicle in a season at once: a machine with a radiator cover belongs to winter or late autumn, and that without a single flake of snow on the model.
The Sd.Kfz. 7 was a German medium half-track tractor. It towed artillery, carried the gun crews and served as a chassis for anti-aircraft weapons. At the front it had an unpowered wheeled axle and at the rear a tracked running gear, which gave it good cross-country ability while keeping ordinary steering by wheel.
The set is for modelers of German vehicles who are building a winter scene or want a feature of period practice on their vehicle. Working with resin is not difficult, but it differs from plastic.
It is not a vehicle model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
