An accessory set from the Czech brand Black Dog for a model of the CV9035NL infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory that is fitted onto a model you already have and markedly changes its appearance. The subject is camouflage from jute tape, that is textile strips that crews weave through the armor and the turret in order to break up the outline of the vehicle and to kill the shine of the surface.
The CV9035NL is the Dutch version of the Swedish CV90 family of infantry fighting vehicles. Against the earlier variants it carries a 35 mm cannon, a modified turret and additional protection for the hull. The Dutch machines went through deployment in Afghanistan, where improvised camouflage and crew modifications were entirely routine, and a vehicle like that is the typical subject for this set.
Textile camouflage has a different surface character from armor: it looks flat and dusty and light does not break on it into sharp edges. A base in a muted earthy shade works well, followed by dry brushing in a lighter tone to bring out the texture, and finally a unifying filter so that the camouflage and the hull hold together. Dust pigments on the lower part of the vehicle will tie the accessory to the rest of the model and suppress the impression of a part added later.
It is an accessory for a model, not a model of the vehicle on its own.
