This is not a vehicle kit but a diorama accessory: a city building with signs of war damage that plays the part of a street set piece in a 1:35 scene. Damaged architecture is a load-bearing element of city dioramas - broken brickwork opens a view into the interior, gives the scene a vertical line and tells the viewer that fighting passed this way without a single figure having to stand on the base.
The fighting for European cities in 1944 and 1945 shared one image: shot-up facades, burnt-out upper floors and streets narrowed by rubble, in which armored vehicles lost the advantage of maneuver. The same type of building and the same type of damage apply to Normandy, to the Rhineland and to the cities of Central Europe, so the subject is not tied to a single battlefield. It serves Allied and German vehicles alike, and equally a postwar scene in which civilian life was returning among the ruins.
Turn the broken wall toward the viewer, because the view inside is the most interesting thing about a damaged building. A vehicle set at an angle below the facade gets a natural frame and the scene gains depth.
