1:35 HAD models decals, German turret numbers, Second World War, part 5 is a decal sheet with tactical digits for models of armored equipment in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fifth part of a series of decal sheets with tactical numbers for models of German armored equipment of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale. It is neither a model nor a part of one: it is an accessory with which a finished model is completed. It is made by the Hungarian brand HAD models, and the decals are wet and release from their backing in water.
The digits on a turret made up a simple identification code: they gave the vehicle's company and platoon and its place in it. It was a purely practical aid to telling vehicles apart in the field. The style and coloring of the digits differed from unit to unit, which is the reason the manufacturer issues a whole series of sheets rather than one universal one.
Spray the place with gloss clear coat first, as a decal will silver on matte paint. Cut the digit out close to the edge of the carrier film, dip it in lukewarm water and wait until it starts to slide on the paper. Transfer it to the dampened area, nudge it into position with a brush and soak the surplus water up with a paper tissue. On a turret full of hatches, lifting eyes and vision ports use a decal softener. Once everything has dried, go over the model with a matte or semi-matte varnish and, if you like, add wear with a wash or pigments over the decal so that it does not look like a sticker.
A decal sheet is an accessory for a model. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
