A scenic base on the theme of a knocked-out M3A1 Stuart light tank. You are buying a setting, not a tank to build: the display is cast as one piece and your task is to give it color, patina and possibly to add the figures or small items that finish telling the story of the scene.
The M3 Stuart was an American light tank of the Second World War period, produced in large numbers and supplied to British and Allied units as well. The M3A1 version brought a welded turret without a commander's cupola and a reworked internal layout. British tank crews valued its speed and reliability; its weakness was its light armament and armor against later opponents. That is exactly why the Stuart often appears in dioramas as a knocked-out machine.
Degrease the casting, then even the surface out with a coat of primer. Choose the base tone on the lighter side, because later layers always darken a scene. Make the transitions between soil, metal and any vegetation soft, so that the materials do not meet one another along a sharp edge. Fix the final pigments only lightly, otherwise they lose their velvety look.
Paints and further models are not supplied with the base; add them according to your own intention.
