A finished foundation for a scene in 1:35 scale, listed under the designation Gohta Werke. An industrial setting is among the rewarding subjects: it gives the model a sense of scale, bounds the view and keeps the vehicles from looking as though they were standing in a vacuum. The groundwork will carry one main model as well as a small group of figures.
Before you glue anything down, set everything out dry and look at the scene from the side at eye level rather than from above. Only that view shows what is shading what and what is getting lost.
Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let it dry. Cut away excess material and traces of manufacture with a sharp blade a little away from the surface and sand the rest. Apply the paint in thin layers and run dust and traces of running water from the top downward. Keep the finished scene in a display case, as dust is harder to remove from a surface with relief than from a smooth model.
For builders of dioramas in 1:35 scale and for anyone who wants to stand their model in a setting rather than on a bare board. Paints, glue and other material for finishing the scene are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
