A Quinta Studio resin detail set for refining the American Dodge WC-54 ambulance kit from Zvezda, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dodge WC-54 was one of the most widely used American ambulances of the Second World War. It was based on the three-quarter-ton WC series with all-wheel drive and carried a closed box body for transporting the wounded. Vehicles of this type served with field medical units on practically every front, and a number of them remained in use even after the war ended.
This detail set of resin parts refines the specific Dodge WC-54 kit from Zvezda. The finely rendered parts replace selected simplified plastic shapes and add detail that cannot be achieved in injection-molded plastic. The set is made to match the shapes and dimensions of the stated kit, so fitting the parts requires only minimal adjustment.
Separate the parts with a sharp hobby knife or a fine saw, smooth the cut surfaces with a file, and wash them with lukewarm water and a drop of detergent before gluing. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic cement has no effect on it. Before painting, it is a good idea to spray the surface with a primer, which improves the adhesion of further coats.
The set suits modelers who want to take a military model beyond box-standard construction, whether on a standalone base or in a diorama with a medical theme. The package contains only the resin parts. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
