An injection-molded plastic set of a section of railway track in 1:35 scale from AK Interactive. It is not a vehicle model but a diorama accessory - railway track for scenes with trains, stations and railway equipment. The set contains parts for assembling two sections of track roughly 19 cm long in standard gauge; the joint between the ties and the tabs between them let you bend the track into a curve easily and hold the shape without glue. Parts for three ways of joining the sections together are also included.
Track is the backbone of railway dioramas and loading ramps; it suits scenes with armored trains, equipment transports and civilian railways alike. A straight or curved section gives a scene depth and a clear sense of scale.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; for a curved run, bend the track first and only then fix it in place. Spray the rails in dark rust, the ties in brownish-gray shades and bring the surface to life with a wash, pigments and dry-brushing. Oil stains, ballast and grass growing through between the ties look convincing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the main model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
