Concrete antitank obstacles, the so-called dragon teeth, in 1:35 scale. A scenery accessory for a diorama with ground equipment and infantry.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dragon teeth are concrete antitank obstacles in the shape of a truncated pyramid, sunk into the ground and built in several rows one behind the other. They blocked a valley, a road or a coastal strip and were meant to make a direct passage impossible for a tracked vehicle. A tank crew had to look for a way around or remove the obstacle, and that held them up at exactly the spot the defender had ranged in advance. The rows were laid out so that a tracked vehicle could not pass straight through.
Elements in 1:35 scale belong on a diorama with ground equipment and with infantry. Set up in a row they divide the area of the scene, tell the viewer where the defensive line runs and give the scene action even without further accessories. They serve well as a roadblock, as a forward obstacle at the edge of a wood, as a street barrier between houses or simply as a backdrop behind a vehicle. The arrangement looks more convincing when it does not stand in a perfect row: tilted and damaged pieces look more alive.
Cut surplus material and manufacturing marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down carefully. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; the exact procedure is given by the manufacturer. Before painting, wash the elements in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry completely. Concrete is imitated well with a light gray base into which a dark wash is laid and the edges are then picked out with a dry brush. Tint the lower part in the tone of the surrounding soil, add moss and scuffs, and the obstacles will tie in with the base.
The vehicle model, the figures, the base, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
