Decals 1:35 East Prussia and Königsberg are the second set of markings on this theme, aimed at a mixed group of armor: the Tiger I and the Panther Ausf. A.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of markings in 1:35 scale for two types of German tank, the Tiger I and the Panther in the Ausf. A version, in the form they wore during the fighting in East Prussia. The set does not hold a kit; its task is to give a finished model a time and a place, that is a particular tactical number and markings matching the closing phase of the war.
The fighting in East Prussia was among the hardest of the closing engagements of the war in Europe. The front moved here in the autumn of 1944 and the encircled port city of Königsberg held out until the spring of 1945. Armored units at that time were put together from whatever was at hand, so machines of different types and different ages fought side by side, and the theme of the set is aimed at exactly such a situation.
It is typical of the late period that the extent of the markings grew smaller. Numbers were often applied by hand, through a stencil or freehand, tended to be outline only and in winter were lost under a white coat. If you want to match that, apply the markings onto a gloss base, but do not leave them brilliantly clean: a matte varnish, a thin layer of dust across the lower edges and a slight softening of the outlines will do more than a perfectly sharp design.
