A variant of the wheels for the Einheitsdiesel Kfz. 61 with a covering ring over the hub bolts, a Fulda off-road tread, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
German off-road trucks were not alike at the wheel hubs, and even within one production run the details changed. Some of the machines received a ring-shaped guard over the nuts securing the wheel, which protected the threads from earth and came off as a single piece during a quick tire change. On a model it is a small thing a couple of millimeters across, but it is visible from the outside and it decides whether the finished vehicle matches the photograph you have on the table.
Exactly this form of the hubs is what this set offers, otherwise identical with the basic off-road tires from the Fulda tire works. The vehicle itself was among the most interesting pieces of the German vehicle park: diesel drive to all six wheels and independent suspension gave it capabilities that road-going three-tonners did not reach, and the signals body designated Kfz. 61 sent it where field telephone exchanges were being set up, that is as a rule off the roads. Mud and rutted tracks therefore belong to it on a model as well.
When fitting them, first check which photograph your machine stands in, because only some of the vehicles had the guard. If you are building a vehicle on the move through terrain, clog the space around the hub with earth and let it run down the rim. Leave the rest of the surface rubbed clean, so that it can be seen where the wheel was rolling.
