A farmer cart 1:35 is a diorama accessory, not a kit of a vehicle. Into village and refugee scenes it adds a horse-drawn wagon of the kind that was ordinary in the European countryside as late as the middle of the twentieth century.

An accessory from the Czech maker Hauler for dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of motor equipment but a farm wagon that gives a scene a village context. In dioramas it is used in two ways: either as part of a peaceful view in a farmyard, or on the contrary as a loaded wagon on a road, hinting that the inhabitants have taken to flight.
The horse-drawn farm wagon was the basic means of transport in the European countryside. The wooden body with side boards, spoked wheels with iron hoops and a simple ladder rack for hay differed from region to region, but the principle stayed the same for centuries. As late as the Second World War wagons took part in the supply of armies and in the movements of the civilian population, and in the photographs of the time they are everywhere.
The wagon is all of wood and metal, which is an ideal subject for a contrast of two surfaces. Paint the wood from a light base toward dark glazes: lay on a beige ground, and once it has dried draw an oil paint or a heavily thinned wash in the direction of the grain, and finally bring the edges out by drybrushing. The iron hoops of the wheels, the clasps and the fittings, by contrast, start from a dark metal color, and add pigments of rust. What adds most to the credibility is the contact with the base - get the lower part of the wheels and the body dirty with mud of the same color as the surface of the diorama, so that the wagon looks as though it really does travel over it. A load, a tarpaulin or sacks can be added from your own sources, and the wagon comes alive by it at once.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. A base, figures, glue and paints are not included in the package.
