The figure 1:35 French modern tank crew N°1 from Black Dog: a crew member of a contemporary French armored vehicle, a resin casting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure of a crew member of a contemporary French armored vehicle. The number in the name tells the individual figures of the line apart, so they can be bought gradually according to how many people the scene is to have.
A vehicle model without a crew looks like a technical exhibit; a single figure beside it immediately gives the scene a comparison for size and a story. That holds doubly for modern armored hardware, because the vehicles are bulky and without a human scale their size is hard to judge. The figure suits a vehicle in service, parked hardware and a base of its own. Contemporary subjects are meanwhile still not as plentiful in the figure range as themes from earlier periods, so a present-day crew is harder to come by than a period one.
The most common mistake is a mismatch in surface finish: a clean figure beside a dusty vehicle or the other way round. Give the figure its patina with the same products and at the same stage as the hardware; the same dust shade on the boots and on the running gear joins the two into one whole. A figure that is seated or placed in a hatch should always be tried dry in the opening before it is glued in permanently. It also pays to unify the gloss: one final varnish over both the vehicle and the figure removes the impression of two separately made objects.
