The resin figure 1:35 French patrol Paris 2016 N°1 from Black Dog: a French soldier on patrol in an urban setting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A cast figure of a French soldier from a patrol in the streets of Paris, a subject dated to 2016. The number in the name tells this figure apart from the second figure of the same patrol.
The subject is urban and calm, not a combat one. The figure therefore works on a sidewalk, at the entrance to a building, in a station concourse or beside a parked vehicle, wherever the scene is meant to feel contemporary and civilian. A street base, street furniture such as benches and litter bins, or a civilian car in the same scale all suit as accessories. Contemporary urban scenes have one advantage over period ones: the source can be checked with your own eyes at any time; you only have to go and look at what real paving, a curb or road markings look like.
Once the casting has been washed, choose a base coat for resin in a thin layer; a thick application clogs the fine relief of the folds on which the whole later effect rests. A light base helps with pronounced tones, while a dark one makes shading easier. Apply the paint in several passes and let it dry thoroughly between them; with figures that pays off more than with hardware, because the areas are small and easily smudged. While you work, stick the figure to a block of wood with double-sided tape so that you do not have to hold it by the painted areas.
