ELEFANT 1:35 German 20-liter cans of triangular section, ten pieces is a set of castings for equipping models of military vehicles and dioramas.

A set of ten twenty-liter cans of triangular section in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer ELEFANT. It is an accessory, not a vehicle kit. Cans are one of the most frequently used accessories on models of military vehicles, because they were carried in brackets on the fenders, at the rear and stacked loose in the cargo area, and the way they are arranged can turn an ordinary model into a particular machine in a particular situation.
A can has a pronounced shape that usually comes out of an injection mold in two halves. The parting line then runs exactly across the rims and the handles, that is where sanding is hardest. Separate castings get around that problem and keep the shape of the neck and the handles legible. Ten identical pieces also make it possible to stack them in a row in which two neighboring units will not look repetitive, simply because of different weathering.
Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface, so that the cans stand at the same height. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer. It works well to unify the whole group in one shade and then to finish each piece differently: one with a lighter overspray from above, the second with chipped edges, the third with a trace of a spill at the neck. Brackets and straps can be made from a thin strip of foil or wire. If you are building a dusty vehicle, let the lower part of the cans sink into the same layer of dust as the fender, otherwise they will look as if they had been stuck on at the last minute.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints, brackets and the base kit are not included in the package.
