A decal set in 1:35 scale from Star Decals. It relates to the markings of the German Funklenk units, Fkl. for short, which operated demolition carriers and their control tanks during the Second World War. It is an accessory to a model, not a kit.
The term Funklenk was used in the German army for radio remote control. The Fkl. units were organized in pairs: a small tracked carrier of explosive, which was guided to its target without a crew, and a control tank with a transmitter operator advancing behind it. They were deployed against fortifications, minefields and obstacles. These were a relatively small number of specialized units, so their markings are markedly less common for a modeler than the national insignia of ordinary tank units.
German vehicles of the second half of the war tend to have a dark yellow base with sprayed green and brown pattern. The decals therefore come into play only once the camouflage is finished: first gloss varnish on the places concerned, then the markings and finally a setting solution for crosses and numbers across rivets and welds. Zimmerit paste, if your model has it, has a rough surface and a decal will not seat on it without thorough softening. Close the work with a matte varnish and only then add dust and traces of corrosion.
The set holds only decals. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
