A plastic kit of the Jagdpanzer E-100 super-heavy tank destroyer, a vehicle that existed only as a project and was never completed. The model in 1:35 scale captures the massive hull with its fixed casemate, usually with vinyl (rubber) tracks and a photo-etched screen; the exact contents follow the particular edition.
The E-100 belonged to the German family of standardized tracked vehicles (Entwicklung) and came about as a hedge alongside the project for the Maus super-heavy tank. The tank destroyer version was to carry a massive large-caliber gun in a fixed superstructure. Work went slowly and the war ended before the vehicle came into being: the Allies found only a partly built chassis. The model is therefore a reconstruction of the project, meaning a so-called paper panzer.
The build is straightforward thanks to the large parts; try the vinyl tracks before gluing, because ordinary cement for plastic will not join them, so use cyanoacrylate glue or fasten them with a staple. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush. The broad surfaces of the hull positively ask for a three-color camouflage brought to life with filters, a wash and pigments; because the real vehicle never served, you have a free hand with the weathering. The large flat plates of the hull are also an ideal surface for practicing shade modulation and fine color transitions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
