This injection-molded plastic kit from the Chinese manufacturer Hobby Boss in 1:35 scale represents the German one-man Molch midget submarine. The set contains parts in gray plastic, photo-etched components and a decal sheet and is supplied as an unassembled and unpainted model.
The Molch was a German one-man midget submarine of 1944 and one of the first midget craft of the Kriegsmarine. It was driven purely by electric power and carried two torpedoes mounted on the sides of the hull. It was deployed in coastal waters as a means of attack against Allied shipping. Its small hull makes it a rewarding subject that can also be displayed in a diorama with a water surface.
Glue the hull with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully, so that the smooth shape of the craft comes out. Fit the photo-etched and small parts with tweezers. Paint with an airbrush and fine-tune the surface with washes and pigments; for a submerged effect a hint of weed, rust and water deposits on the lower part of the hull works well. Complete the model with a stand or a scene with a water surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
