An injection-molded plastic kit of the German recovery vehicle built on the chassis of the Panther tank, in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the Bergepanther Ausf. D version complemented by a 37 mm anti-aircraft gun. The set contains the parts of the hull, of the working superstructure and a decal sheet. Check the exact contents against the enclosed instructions.
The Bergepanther was the heavy recovery and towing vehicle of the German army of the Second World War, derived from the Panther tank. It served to tow damaged and bogged-down tracked vehicles off the battlefield. The version with the FlaK 37 anti-aircraft gun combined recovery capability with its own defense against low-flying aircraft. The Panther chassis provided enough power even for towing heavy tanks.
Assemble the running gear and the hull interior before closing the structure up. A primer base and airbrush spraying are recommended; the German camouflage comes out well when the base yellow is shaded. Washes and pigments for dust and mud effects complete the patina. Finish the track assembly before the final weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
