Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Panzer I Ausf.B light tank in 1:35 scale from Academy. The set is conceived as a small scene: besides the tank it also holds a motorcycle with a sidecar (Zundapp), figures, photo-etched parts and a decal sheet with several marking options for the tank. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Panzer I was a light tank armed only with a pair of machine guns, which served mainly to train crews and to build up the German armored forces in the 1930s. The Ausf.B version had a lengthened chassis with an added road wheel and a more powerful engine. Despite its weak armament and armor, the Panzer I was used in the opening stages of the Second World War, for example in the Polish and French campaigns. The motorcycle with its sidecar supported units in reconnaissance and communications.
Finish and paint the running gear of the tank before closing the hull up, because it is harder to reach later. Glue the small photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and the plastic with thin cement into the joints; on the motorcycle watch out for the fine parts of the frame and the wheels. Lay down a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush in thin coats; for the early period a gray base (Panzergrau) suits. Bring the surface to life with a wash and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
