Eduard 1:35 Merkava Mk. IV LIC armour shields is a photo-etched set of side armor shields for a model of the Israeli Merkava Mk.IV LIC tank. It is an accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale adds side armor shields to a model of the Israeli Merkava Mk.IV LIC tank. The thin metal parts faithfully reproduce the protective panels on the sides of the hull and the turret, which a plastic kit manages only in a simplified way. It is not a standalone model but an upgrade accessory.
The Merkava Mk.IV is an Israeli main battle tank with the emphasis on crew protection and with the engine mounted at the front. The LIC version (Low Intensity Conflict) was adapted for fighting in built-up areas and for asymmetric conflicts, among other things with added armor shields protecting the running gear and the sides of the vehicle.
Separate the photo-etched shields with a sharp knife and shape them along the grooves with a bending tool. Glue the panels with cyanoacrylate glue and take care to seat them parallel. Once painted, the armor comes out well with a wash and pigments that emphasize the dust and mud effects typical of service in the desert and in the city.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The base model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
