An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sturmpanzer IV Early Version in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The German heavy assault gun on the Panzer IV chassis, nicknamed Brummbär.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit captures the early version of the German Sturmpanzer IV assault gun (Sd.Kfz. 166), known by the nickname Brummbär. The richly broken-down kit holds a large number of parts on a series of sprues, copper wire and extra photo-etched elements. The real subject is based on the chassis of the Panzer IV medium tank.
The Sturmpanzer IV was a heavy infantry assault gun armed with a short-barreled 150 mm howitzer, intended for direct fire support in urban fighting and against fortifications. It came about from the experience of the fighting at Stalingrad and was fielded from 1943 at Kursk, at Anzio and in Normandy among other places. The early version can be told by the particular form of the casemate and the hull front.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you close the hull. Fix the side armor skirts and the photo-etched parts carefully. An airbrush suits the German camouflage scheme; bring out the intricate surface of the armor with washes and pigments and add dust and mud effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
