This kit from I Love Kit builds on one of the most useful machines of the Second World War. The amphibious truck with six driven wheels could drive off a ship straight into the water, swim to the beach and carry on over land with no transfer of its load. Beside the vehicle, the name also gives a howitzer of 105 mm caliber, which makes the set a rewarding whole for a landing scene.
The design grew during the war out of a proven three-ton truck, to which American teams gave a boat hull, a propeller and a rudder. It was exactly these machines that brought ammunition, fuel and guns to the Normandy beaches and to the atolls of the Pacific at moments when no harbor was available. They stayed in service long after the war and some of them still carry tourists today.
Finish the chassis and the inside of the hull before it is closed up, because after that you will not reach them. The olive finish will take strong lightening of the upper surfaces so that the large hull does not look flat. On the lower edge it pays to suggest a waterline with salt deposits and algae, while dust and rubbing from the cargo suit the load area. Weather the barrel and the carriage of the howitzer separately.
The box holds unpainted plastic parts; obtain paints, glue and accessories separately, unless stated otherwise.
