A Gothic cathedral window in 1:35 scale, a building element for dioramas with architecture.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Gothic window is recognized by its pointed arch and its stone tracery, that is the thin stone ribs that divide the large area of the window into narrower fields. It was precisely this construction that let the builders of cathedrals draw windows up in height and open a wall in a way the older style did not allow. In a wartime scene a window has one further effect: broken tracery and an empty opening say more about the fate of a town than a whole shot-up house.
A building element in 1:35 scale, that is in the same scale in which military models and figures are issued. It is set into the brickwork of a building or into its ruin and gives a scene a tall dominant feature, against which a vehicle and a figure come into their own. The list of parts is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the area with fine sandpaper. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts. Stone looks good when a dark wash is applied into the joints over a light gray base and the edges are then gone over by drybrushing; uneven patches of soot, moss and water traces will give age. If you want to suggest glazing, a thin clear film stuck on from behind will serve. The particular procedure for gluing and painting is to be found in the manufacturer's instructions.
The element will be appreciated by builders of dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale who want to set equipment into a city or a church setting. Paints, glue and the rest of the building are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
