A set of reproductions of period propaganda posters from the First World War in 1:35 scale, 85 pieces in all for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
During the First World War the poster was one of the main means of addressing the population: it called for enlistment, for subscribing to war loans, for saving food and for work in the rear. It was pasted up on houses, on fences, on posts and on notice boards, that is exactly where a detail is looked for on a diorama today to give the scene its time and place. It is precisely such a small item that gives away that a scene does not stand anywhere and at any time.
A total of 85 posters reduced to 1:35 scale. The quantity is chosen so that it lasts for several scenes and so that the designs do not repeat side by side on one wall.
Cut the individual posters out with a sharp blade along a ruler, so that the edges are straight; scissors are more likely to crumple paper at this scale. Try the placing dry first and only then fix the item, and the recommended procedure and glue are given in the manufacturer's instructions. A poster does not belong in the middle of an empty wall; it looks more convincing by a doorway, on the corner of a house or on a fence, where people would really read it. It pays to stick to one scene and not to paste up the whole diorama. A torn corner, a slightly peeling edge and gentle soiling of the surroundings turn a clean reproduction into a poster that has been hanging on the wall for several weeks.
For builders of dioramas from the period of the First World War and for anyone looking for period small items for the background in 1:35 scale. The diorama base, the figures, the model and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
