A photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber for a model of the German tank destroyer Jagdpanther in the Ausf. G1 version, early form. It holds the grilles and screens of the covers of the cooling vents at the rear of the hull. This is not a kit of a vehicle but an accessory for exchanging the plastic parts.
The Jagdpanther was built on the chassis of the medium tank Panther and carried an 88 mm anti-tank gun in a fixed casemate. The combination of good mobility, sloped armor and heavy armament made it one of the most effective tank destroyers of its day. The Ausf. G1 version in its early form differed in details of the hull and in the arrangement of the cooling openings of the engine compartment.
Sand away the solid surfaces of the plastic covers and leave only the surrounding frame. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, bend them in a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue at individual points. Spray the surface under the grille a dark shade. On late-war vehicles it suits the grille to let dust pigments and fine dirt settle on it.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
