Eduard 1:35 Hummel ammunition boxes: a photo-etched set for filling out the ammunition stowage of the Hummel self-propelled howitzer. An accessory for the model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard aimed at the ammunition boxes and ammunition stowage of the Hummel self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale. The open fighting compartment of the Hummel is clearly visible on a model, and it is faithfully rendered boxes and shell racks that give it the right worked-in character. This is a detail accessory for the vehicle model, not a kit in its own right.
The Hummel was a German self-propelled howitzer of the Second World War: a 15 cm sFH 18 howitzer mounted on a chassis that combined elements of the Panzer III and IV tanks. It served with the armored divisions for fire support from 1943. The crew worked in an open superstructure and the ammunition carried on board was limited, so it was supplemented by accompanying ammunition carriers and by boxes stowed around the fighting compartment.
Bend the parts over a steel rule or in a bending tool and strengthen the edges of the boxes with a drop of super glue. Once assembled, degrease the etched parts, give them a coat of primer and paint them together with the interior of the fighting compartment. A fine wash and chipping on the edges of the boxes will finish off the weathering, because ammunition was loaded quickly and without ceremony.
This is an accessory: the vehicle kit is not included in the package. Please check the fit with your kit.
