Eduard 1:35 Hummel (late production) interior is a photo-etched set for detailing the open fighting compartment of the German self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard focused on the interior of the fighting compartment of the self-propelled howitzer Hummel in its late production form, in 1:35 scale. This is not a model of a vehicle but an add-on to a kit. It is precisely on the Hummel that detailing the interior makes exceptional sense — the fighting compartment is open at the top, so all the equipment of the superstructure stays permanently visible on the finished model.
The Hummel was a German self-propelled howitzer of the Second World War. It came about by installing a heavy field howitzer of 15 cm on a chassis combining elements of the Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks. From 1943 it served with the artillery battalions of the tank divisions as mobile fire support. The crew worked in an open, only partly armored superstructure; the late production series differed in changes to the driver's station and in other details.
Install the photo-etched parts as you go during the building of the superstructure, while all the places are easily reachable — later fitting into a finished fighting compartment is difficult. Bend the edges over a steel ruler or in a bending tool and bond them with super glue. Once painted, bring the interior to life with a fine wash and drybrushing; an open superstructure takes even pronounced weathering of the floor and the area around the ammunition stowage.
This is an add-on for modelers — the kit the set is made for and the glue are not included in the package.
