Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the German heavy self-propelled gun Hummel in the late production version. The model from the maker Border Model carries a 15 cm howitzer in an open superstructure and offers a metal gun barrel with a bore, photo-etched parts and the reworked running gear typical of late examples.
The Hummel (Sd.Kfz. 165) was a heavy self-propelled gun built on a combined chassis of the Panzer III and IV tanks. In an open hull it carried a heavy 15 cm field howitzer and provided German armored units with mobile artillery support. Late production examples received an enlarged driver's compartment, a new engine cooling cover and steel return rollers. The vehicle was fielded from 1943 until the end of the war.
The open fighting superstructure lets the interior come out — assemble and paint it and the running gear before the hull is closed. Degrease the metal gun barrel so that the paint adheres. Emphasize the relief of the welds with a wash and finish the dust and mud on the running gear with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
