Plastic kit of the Israeli quarter-ton all-wheel-drive M38A1 or CJ5 field car in the anti-tank guided missile carrier version. 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The light quarter-ton all-wheel-drive field car was for decades the most widespread vehicle of its kind. The military M38A1 and the closely related civilian CJ5 share the basic body shape, so the two met side by side in service. The Israeli army used them among other things as carriers of anti-tank guided missiles: the car stayed light and fast, the launcher went on a rack behind the seats, and its protection was mobility rather than armor.
An open vehicle has nowhere to hide its insides, so practically everything is visible on the model: seats, instrument panel, floor and the stowage of the equipment. That is what makes it a rewarding piece for a diorama, where it stands out alongside figures and cargo. At the same time it is a small model in 1:35 scale that fits even a full display case.
Before gluing, clear the parts of excess material and marks left by production, sand the mating surfaces and try the assembly dry. Finish and spray the interior before you seat the seats and the rack, because it is hard to reach later. Wash and degrease the model before painting.
Paints, glue, putty, figures and upgrade sets are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
