The Shot Kal is the Israeli upgraded version of the British Centurion tank. The Centurion carried the name Shot in Israeli service, and the suffix Kal refers to the re-engining with a new powerpack of a Continental diesel engine and an automatic transmission, which replaced the original gasoline drive. The Centurion thus gained greater range, reliability and ease of maintenance. The successive upgrades were distinguished by Hebrew letters; the later versions received add-on Blazer reactive armor, which proved itself in the fighting of 1982, when hits from anti-tank rocket launchers often failed to penetrate the armor.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the tracks before closing up the hull. Separate the parts with a cutter and glue them with liquid cement for plastic; work carefully on the blocks of reactive armor and the fittings on the turret, because they define the character of the vehicle. After the base coat with an airbrush, pick out the details with a wash, underline the edges and the wear with a dry brush and add the heavy dust of Middle Eastern service with light pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
