This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds represents the Japanese Type 2 Ho-I gun tank in 1:35 scale. The model offers a well broken-down hull and turret, the running gear and the armament, and it is meant to be assembled and painted by the builder.
The Type 2 Ho-I was a Japanese support gun tank of the Imperial Japanese Army, derived from the chassis of the Chi-Ha series of medium tanks. In its turret it carried a short 75 mm gun meant to support infantry and destroy fortifications. Only a few machines were built and the vehicle never saw wide combat use.
Assemble the running gear and the hull first, and only then close up the main assemblies. Clean up the tracks and the road wheels well. Multi-color camouflage is typical of Japanese hardware and it comes into its own with an airbrush. The weathering and dust are built up with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
