Star Decals decals in 1:35 scale for the Israeli M7 Priest 105 mm self-propelled howitzers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fourth part of a range devoted to Israeli armored vehicles. It focuses on the M7 Priest 105 mm self-propelled howitzer. The package holds decals that give a finished model its Israeli identity, not parts of the vehicle.
The M7 Priest is an artillery machine built on an American-made tank chassis of the Second World War. Its 105 mm howitzer sits in an open fighting compartment, so the crew works in the open air and the vehicle is more interesting seen from above than a closed tank. The Israel Defense Forces took it into their own artillery and ran it long after its original era, which makes it a typical example of equipment that found a second life with another army.
An open fighting compartment means the viewer will look at the inside, while the markings tend to be on the outer surfaces of the hull and on the fenders. It therefore pays to reverse the order of the work compared with a tank: finish and fill the interior first, then apply the decals from the outside and finally even everything out with a matte varnish. When weathering, bear in mind that dust does not leave an open fighting compartment. On the inner surfaces the layer may therefore be bolder than on the armor.
