This kit from the Polish manufacturer IBG Models renders the Italian self-propelled combination created by mounting a 90 mm anti-aircraft gun on the chassis of the heavy 3Ro truck. The model is extensive: it contains both the vehicle and the gun with its mounting and platform. The specific number of parts, the extent of the decals and the presence of photo-etched parts are stated on the box.
The 90 mm gun with a barrel length of 53 calibers was among the best Italian guns of the Second World War. Besides the anti-aircraft role it also proved itself in direct fire against ground targets. To make it mobile, it was mounted on the chassis of heavy trucks; one of the carriers was the three-axle 3Ro, a sturdy machine with a diesel engine used in the Italian army both as a tractor and as a transport vehicle. The resulting Autocannone was used above all in North Africa and in Italy.
Work in sub-assemblies: the chassis and engine section, the body with the artillery platform and the gun separately. Paint the inside of the body and the mounting before you close the whole thing up, otherwise you will no longer reach them. The cab and the fenders take a thin coat of paint, so that the engraving does not disappear. On Italian equipment from North Africa a light sand base works well, with modulation of the shade over it, a dust filter and a dark wash into the engraving. Leave the tires matte and dusty and bring out the metal parts of the barrel with a graphite rub.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
