The real subject

The Jagdpanther is a German tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panther tank. Instead of a rotating turret it has a low casemate superstructure with heavily sloped walls, thanks to which it stood lower than the tank and was harder to hit. In the superstructure it carried a gun of 88 millimeter caliber with a barrel 71 calibers long, that is a weapon that could deal with most contemporary vehicles at ordinary ranges. Relatively few were built, and the late machines differed from the earlier ones in a number of production details.

What the set contains

Photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet for a model in 1:35 scale, according to its name for the late version of the vehicle. Metal sheet can be made in a thickness that a plastic part cannot have, so it replaces the places where plastic would have to be unrealistically thick, or adds pierced and finely divided areas. Which parts of the model the set covers and which kit it is cut for are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.

Building and painting tips

Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard backing and level the remnant left after separation with a fine file. Make the bends along the pressed scores, ideally in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and make them in one movement. Metal is glued with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, as cement for polystyrene will not join it. Before painting, degrease the sheet and put a base coat under it. Try the bent parts dry on the model while you can still fine-tune them, because once they are glued the shape can no longer be moved.
