This product is a photo-etched add-on set from FineMolds in 1:35 scale, meant to improve a plastic model of the Type 60 armored personnel carrier of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. It is not a vehicle kit but a set of thin photo-etched parts with which you replace the coarser plastic sections.
Photo-etch makes it possible to create fine elements that are hard to mold in plastic. The parts are nipped from the fret, bent along the engraved lines and bonded with super glue. The model thus gains a more precise and more faithful surface, which comes into its own especially after painting and weathering.
The Type 60 was the first postwar armored personnel carrier of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. It served to carry infantry and became the basis for a whole range of tracked vehicles of the Japanese army.
This is an add-on set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
