Friulmodel 1:35 IS-3 Stalin and IS-1 / IS-2 is a set of white metal tracks for the Soviet heavy tanks of the IS family.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of white metal tracks in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. It is not a model but a detail accessory: the individual metal links are joined with the supplied wire pins into a fully workable run. The metal construction gives the running gear a convincing weight and a natural sag that plastic kit tracks cannot offer.
The Soviet heavy tanks of the IS family (Iosif Stalin) were among the most powerful armored vehicles of the closing stage of the Second World War. The IS-1 and IS-2 carried a massive gun against the heaviest German vehicles, while the later IS-3 became famous for its characteristic rounded turret and sloped hull front. Their robust running gear with wide links is faithfully cast in this metal set, which replaces the tracks from the plastic kit.
Clean the moldings off the links, assemble them by threading them onto the supplied wire and trim off the excess. White metal holds paint better after a base coat suitable for metal is sprayed on. For a convincing look, use a darker wash in the recesses and dust or mud pigments; suggest the polished metal areas with graphite.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
