A resin detail accessory in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It is not a model of a vehicle but a gun mantlet fitted with a canvas cover for the Soviet ISU-122 and ISU-152 heavy self-propelled guns. The cover protected the moving mounting and the bore of the weapon from dirt and weather.
A covered mantlet gives a model an authentic field look and settles one of the visually prominent details of the front of the superstructure. The resin casting faithfully captures the folds and the texture of the fabric, which are hard to cast in plastic. The part replaces the original component from the base kit.
Wash the mold release residue off the part, cut off the casting block and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting. The canvas cover comes out once the folds are picked out with a wash and a dry brush, and it is worth setting the shade of the fabric apart from the metal parts.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. A matching base kit is needed to use it.
