The real subject

The K-4386 Typhoon VDV is a Russian wheeled armored vehicle of the Typhoon family, developed for the airborne troops. The inside of such a vehicle is made up of seats with belts, an instrument panel, control panels and the lining of the crew compartment, that is, exactly the elements that are visible on a model once the doors and hatches are opened.

What the set contains

These are color three-dimensional interior elements in 1:35 scale from the Quinta range, made by 3D printing and carried on decal paper. The paper is a carrier from which the element slides into place after a brief dip; it has no adhesive layer of its own and no softener is used with it. The three-dimensional relief together with the color finish gives the instrument panel and the side panels a depth that cannot be reached with a flat decal. The extent of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building tips

The elements are applied onto finished and painted interior parts before the hull is closed. Rid the area of dust and grease and coat it with a gloss varnish, on which the element holds. Cut the part out, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place, where it can still be moved for a short while. On complex spots a cotton bud and a drop of cyanoacrylate glue help. Do not use a softener, as it would attack the printed resin. The finished interior can be unified at the end with a thin layer of matte varnish.
