A replacement for the road wheels of the modern South Korean tank K2 Black Panther. The set is aimed at modelers who want a sharper rendering of the tire and a cleaner circumference than the production parts offer. On a modern machine with a smoothly finished surface the running gear is one of the few places where a difference in the quality of detail can really be seen.
The K2 entered service in the middle of the 2010s as the fruit of long domestic development. It carries a 120 mm smoothbore gun with automatic loading, so it manages with a crew of three. The most striking thing about it is its suspension, which makes it possible to change the height and the attitude of the hull, to crouch behind a fold in the ground or, the other way round, to lift the nose and aim higher up a slope. Besides the South Korean army, Poland has also chosen the machine, where production under license is planned. This type is therefore one of the few modern tanks that is still spreading.
Modern machines get dirty on a training area differently from wartime equipment. The dust is fine and rather gray, mud clings in a thin layer and rust practically never appears. So keep a restrained hand and concentrate on a subtle distinction between the rubber tire and the disc and on a light polish to the outer edge, where the wheel touches the track.
