On a truck model the wheels are one of the few parts the viewer sees from every side and from close up. They are where the tread pattern, the shape of the rim and the way the vehicle sits on its base all become apparent. This set replaces the wheels of the German Krupp L3H163 truck with finished parts on which the tread is carried all the way around, so there is no laborious correcting to do.
The Gelände qualifier in the name corresponds to the off-road tread pattern, that is, a coarser tread intended for use away from made-up roads. German military trucks appear in period photographs with several kinds of tire, so the choice of tread is one of the details that can bring a model closer to a particular subject.
Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; cyanoacrylate holds on resin and metal. Cut away excess material and production marks with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the rest, so that the tread is not damaged. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface. The specific preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Fit the wheels only once the chassis is painted; access to the larger surfaces is easier that way.
