Workable metal tracks for the KV-1, KV-2, KV-1S and SU-152 1:35 (Friulmodel)

A set of cast white metal links as a replacement for the plastic tracks of an ordinary kit. It is not a vehicle model but a detail accessory for the Soviet heavy tanks KV-1, KV-2 and KV-1S and for the SU-152 heavy self-propelled gun. The individual links are joined with wire pins, so the finished run is fully workable, sags convincingly and gives the model a realistic weight and look. Wire for the pins and a small reserve of links are in the package.

The real subject

The heavy tanks of the KV family and the SU-152 self-propelled gun built on their chassis were among the heaviest Soviet machines of the early Second World War. They shared a massive chassis with a wide track, which this set reproduces. Convincing tracks complete the impression of the weight of these machines.

Assembly and use

• The links are joined with the supplied wire, which forms workable pins.
• The metal run can be bent to create a realistic sag.
• Degrease the parts before painting and paint them over a suitable primer.
• An excellent base for washes, dust and mud effects on the running gear.
