The 1.5 x 3.2 mm profile from Evergreen is a white polystyrene strip 35 centimeters long, suitable for heavier battens, square sections and beams.
Responsibility details are not available.
A white opaque polystyrene strip with a section of one and a half by three point two millimeters and a length of 35 centimeters. The section is strong enough that the profile holds its shape on its own and takes a load, so frames and load-bearing elements can be built from it. The material matches the plastic of kits, it is glued with ordinary cement for plastic and it sands well.
A heavier profile is better cut through with a saw than with a knife, and the cut is then squared up with a sanding stick so that the joint sits flush. When building a frame, draw the outline on a base and glue the elements straight onto it. If the profile is to look like a wooden beam, run the tip of a scriber or a wire brush along its length and knock the edges back a little; after painting the plastic then looks like planed wood.
When a longer beam made up of several pieces is to be built from the profile, put the joint where it will later be covered by a crosspiece or a bracket. Nobody will find it on the finished model then.
When cutting, work with a sharp knife or a saw on a cutting mat and do not breathe in the sanding dust.
