The L1A1 SLR self-loading rifle in 1:35 scale: accessory small arms for figures and equipment; the name gives the Lithgow form and four pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
Tiny accessories for building scenes: miniature small arms that you fit into the hands of figures or distribute into the stowage spaces and mounts inside equipment. The name gives the Australian Lithgow form of the L1A1 SLR rifle and a count of four pieces. A figure or a vehicle is not included.
The L1A1 is a self-loading rifle derived from the Belgian FN FAL design, reworked into inch measures and altered so that it fires only single shots in 7.62 mm NATO caliber. It was produced among other places at the arms factory in Lithgow in New South Wales and was part of the basic equipment of Australian and New Zealand soldiers in southeast Asia. You recognize it by the long forend, the straight detachable magazine and the high-set sights.
Separate them over a surface, so that the small pieces do not get lost. They come into their own after a dark base on which the edges of the metal surfaces are drawn out with a dry brush; the wooden or plastic parts are supported by a warm brown shade. You suggest the sling with a strip of paper or with thinly rolled modeling putty. A final discreet dusting with a pigment in the color of the terrain joins the weapon to its surroundings. Before you glue the weapon, try its position dry: the angle at which the rifle rests in the hands gives away more about the stance of the figure than any other detail.
