A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale. This is not a stand-alone model but a detail accessory, which replaces or completes the fine features on a plastic model of the LCVP landing craft. Photo-etched sheet makes it possible to render faithfully thin components that cannot be cast in plastic.
The LCVP, also known as the Higgins boat, was an American landing craft for infantry and light vehicles. It was deployed on a mass scale during the Second World War in amphibious landings, in Normandy and in the Pacific among others. Its characteristic features were the hinged bow ramp and the shallow hull for coming in close to the beach.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a surface, bent over a bending tool or a metal ruler and glued best with super glue. Degrease the sheet before painting and lay down a primer, so that the paint holds well.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
