Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the West German Leopard 1 main battle tank in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. The model captures the characteristic clean lines of the turret and the hull and the 105 mm gun. The kit faithfully reproduces the texture of the cast surface; according to the manufacturer it contains metal parts for the engine grille and a figure. Check the exact contents and the decals against the manufacturer's instructions.
The Leopard 1 was the first main battle tank developed in postwar West Germany. It put the emphasis on mobility and firepower rather than on heavy armor. It was armed with the proven 105 mm rifled gun and powered by a strong diesel engine, which gave it high speed and good mobility across country. The tank became a very successful export type and served with a number of armies in many upgraded versions.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, and assemble and paint the running gear before you finish the hull. Apply a primer and the paint with an airbrush; West German tanks wore a single-color bronze green or, later, a three-color camouflage. Bring out the engraved lines with a wash and complete the dust and mud effects with pigments on the running gear and the lower part of the hull. The cast surface of the turret can be emphasized with light drybrushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
