Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the upgraded main battle tank Leopard 2 to the Revolution II standard in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Tiger Model. Besides the plastic sprues the package holds a photo-etched fret, clear parts, decals and turned metal parts for the smoke grenade launchers. This is a kit at an advanced level of difficulty, which will reward careful work with very rich detail.
The modernization package under the designation MBT Revolution came about at the German arms company Rheinmetall as an offer to users of older versions of the Leopard 2 tank. It was first presented at the beginning of the previous decade and was aimed mainly at the use of the tank in modern conflicts, where attacks from the side, from above and at close range are a threat. The modernization therefore concentrates on add-on modular armor for the hull and the turret, mine protection, new sensors and all-round view cameras, a remote controlled weapon station and air conditioning for the crew. This changes the silhouette of the vehicle considerably, the outline of the turret is more angular and the whole tank comes across as more robust than the original version.
First finish the running gear and the lower hull, because once the add-on armor modules are fitted you will not reach it any more. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and bend them over a metal ruler. Degrease the turned metal parts first and give them a primer coat, as otherwise the paint will not hold on them. The model comes into its own in a single-color modern finish, which stands out thanks to shading and fine color modulation of the surfaces. Keep the weathering restrained, as modern equipment tends to be well maintained: light dust on the lower part, rubbing on the edges and traces of service around the hatches and the access steps.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
