A photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard meant for models of the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank but a set of fine sheet metal parts, which replace and supplement simplified plastic features with more precise photo-etched parts and raise the realism of a finished model.
The M4 Sherman was the main American medium tank of the Second World War, deployed by the Allies on every battlefield. The M4A3 version was marked by its Ford GAA gasoline engine and a welded hull; it was armed with a 75 mm gun, and in later forms with a 76 mm gun as well. The Sherman excelled in reliability, easy maintenance and mass production.
The photo-etched parts are cut from the brass fret with a sharp blade, formed with a bending tool and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). They come into their own on the fenders, the grilles of the engine compartment, the tool mountings and other fine features. Degrease the parts before painting and spray them with a base coat.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, which the set does not replace. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
