An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern American armored vehicle M1151 Enhanced Armament Carrier in 1:35 scale from Academy. It is the reinforced combat version of the Humvee (HMMWV) with add-on armor and a gunner's station on the roof. The box holds body parts, the chassis, clear parts for the glazing and a decal sheet for several finishes; a small photo-etched fret and crew figures are usually included as well.
The M1151 belongs to the HMMWV family of general-purpose vehicles, nicknamed the Humvee. The Enhanced Armament Carrier version is adapted for carrying armament and for use in threatened areas: it has a sturdier frame, add-on armor on the cab and a rotating weapon station on the roof, typically with a .50 caliber heavy machine gun or an automatic grenade launcher. Vehicles of this type carried the weight of the modern deployments of the US Army in desert as well as broken terrain.
Finish and paint the cab interior and the chassis before you close the body up. Bond the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush — the model looks good both in desert sand and in the three-tone NATO camouflage. Fine-tune dust and mud on the chassis and the wheels with pigments and a fine wash.
