A set of assemblable (workable) plastic tracks of the T-158 type in 1:35 scale for models of the American M1A1/M1A2 Abrams tank. The individual links are put together one by one and stay workable once assembled, so the track can be given a natural sag on the model and made to follow the shape of the ground. The T-158 is a type of steel track with rubber pads used on the modern versions of the M1 Abrams tank. The wider links improve the weight distribution of this heavy tank and its movement across country. A realistically done track contributes markedly to the overall impression of the finished model.
Clean the flash off the links, assemble them according to the instructions and, keeping them workable, let the track settle freely onto the wheels so that a natural sag appears. For painting, a base steel or dark gray tone works well, brought out with drybrushing in a metallic shade and finished with dust and mud pigments for a worn effect. The contact faces of the pads can be polished to a shine.
